Interviewing Skills Training
The Interviewing Skills Workshop is for anyone responsible for conducting interviews, whether you are an HR professional or Line Manager. This workshop has been designed particularly for those who have had little formal training or experience in this area.
In this one day workshop, our experienced facilitators will help you gain the specialist knowledge and practical skills required to undertake different types of interviews and gather accurate information or help inform decisions such as those around hiring or promotion. But this course isn't just about theory, we have designed a series of activities to help you practise and develop your skills as an interviewer so that you leave with confidence.
By the end of the workshop, you will understand best practice in relation to interviewing that can be applied in a range of different contexts.
You will hear about the theory which underpins a good interviewing technique and learn practical ways to apply this.
You will have the opportunity to practise your interviewing skills in a safe environment, receiving feedback from the facilitator to help you build and improve on your technique.
We know that interview processes vary greatly, depending on the purpose of the interview and the culture of the organisation. In most instances we therefore look to tailor the workshop to your needs. For example, this might mean incorporating your existing leadership or competency framework into the practical sessions or referencing a case study which reflects some of the challenges unique to your business. Give one of our team a call to find out how we can create a workshop which will deliver the most value for your people.

“Mendas recently ran a half day workshop on an overview of competency based interviewing for our newly formed resourcing team. The session was the perfect balance of theory and practical exercises and they managed to cover a broad range of topics from assessor bias to mapping a role profile in just 3.5 hours. Working with Mendas was really easy, they took a detailed brief and ensured the session was tailored to our needs. The team found the session a great refresher and foundation for moving our resourcing strategy forward, and in particular enjoyed the exercise where they identified the required competencies for a role. Cher and Mary were engaging facilitators and made the team feel at ease. All in all, a very useful introductory session!” - Katie Sparrowhawk, Resourcing Delivery Manager, Cancer Research UK
